Chandraprabha Vati (CP), the main compound formulation in PROSTANAV Tablets is a active blend of Purified Shilajit (Asphaltum), Purified Guggulu (Balsamodendron mukul), Karpoor (Camphora), Musta (Cyperus rotundus), Kiratatikta (Swertia chirata), Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia), Daruharidra (Berberis species), Pippalimool (Piper longum), Chitraka (Plumbago zeylanica), Dhanyaka (Coriandrum sativum), Triphala, Vidanga (Embelia ribes), Trikatu, Saindhava (Rock salt), Twak (Cinnamon), Ela (Elettaria cardamomum), Vansalochan (Bambusa arundinacia). CP is considered to be the best combination for urinary tract problems in Ayurveda by virtue of its anti-inflammatory (Shothahar), Diuretic (Mutral), Cooling (Dahahar) property. This makes it highly useful in reducing the obstructive pathology in BPH.
Varuna (Crataeva nurvala), Punarnava (Boerhaavia diffusa) and Gorakhmundi (Sphaeranthus hirtus) are extensively studied for their effect on Prostatic Hypertrophy. These herbs have been reported to possess both alpha one adrenoreceptor blocker and 5 alpha one reductase inhibitor activities. Also these help to inhibit stromal cells proliferation, which makes them highly effective in BPH.
